18ct Gold Wedding Ring
Women’s Wedding Bands – With So Many Choices, What Metal Would You Choose?
Rings Jewelry report By Annabelle Scott
The jewelry business has been steadily expanding the exotic metals and gem stones available to craft your perfect ring and setting.
It may be surprising therefore that yellow gold in 14ct or 18ct continues to be one of the most sought after metals when choosing a ring. Perhaps with its longer history there is more romanticism surrounding this metal? White gold is proving popular with those who would rather not have a yellow metal. Whilst silver in color it is more valuable than silver and is an amalgam of yellow gold and other metals to give it that distinct color.
Platinum is another silver colored metal. In terms of purity, 18ct gold is 75% pure gold whilst platinum is almost 95% pure. These rings maintain their look over time and would be hard to scratch. Platinum rings are the most expensive.
Titanium is one of the newest metals used in the jewelry industry. Titanium is relatively inexpensive and similar in appearance to white gold but lighter. This metal has gained popularity for men as a wedding ring.
Wedding Rings – How to Choose Your Wedding Ring
Rings Jewelry report By Mircix Nuk
Wedding rings are highly symbolic pieces of jewelery, and it is likely you will want to wear your ring all the time, and for many years, so it is important to select the style and design of the ring very carefully. The most popular precious metals are platinum, white gold and yellow gold. If you like the look of platinum but cannot afford it then white gold can be polished and brushed to resemble platinum’s ultra modern look.
Yellow gold is the most traditional metal for wedding rings, and remember that the carat designates the purity of the gold. The higher the carat the more gold it contains, but also the softer the ring will be, and less suitable for the rigors of an active life. Jewelers often recommend 18ct, which is thought to be a good compromise between luxury and practicality.
When choosing the design of your wedding ring, think about your own personal style. If you are a bold, daring person then there are lots of modern, exciting designs now available.
It is still traditional to have matching rings, but you can add your own twists to the design, for example both wedding rings could be the same metal and pattern, but the bride could have the addition of some diamonds or another precious stone.
